Longtime head coach Bob Loshek must replace nine graduated seniors and six starters this season, but expectations are the beat will go on for the Park High girls' softball team. Park went 17-7 last season, including 14-4 and a third-place finish in the always rugged Suburban East Conference. Forest Lake won the conference crown before finishing second at state. The team which won the Class 3AAAA title, Rosemount, edged Park 2-1 in the section semifinals.

Softball Team Advances in 3AAAA Section Play

The Wolfpack closed the regular season with a 2-1 win over host East Ridge at East Ridge on Thursday. Park finished third in the SEC with a 14-4 conference record and stands 15-5 on the season and earned the No. 2 seed in the Section 3AAAA playoffs. Park triumphed over third-seeded Eastview in a Section 3AAAA Championship Bracket Semifinal in Cottage Grove. They then had to take on the Top-ranked Rosemount team who eventually won the state crown. Park lost 2-1, but it was the closest Rosemount came to losing a game in a Section 3AAAA quarterfinals.

It's a Homecoming for Park's Delaney Young

This year is the homecoming for Delaney Young, an All-State softball star and memorable basketball player during her playing days at Park. She graduated from Park in 2018 and was off to Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where she earned a boatload of softball honors along with an advanced degree. Now she’s back in the Cottage Grove, teaching and coaching at Park. Welcome back Delaney!!
